The graphical user interface (GUI) is the same under Linux & Windows. There is no ncurses (text) interface for Windows users. Linux user can start acarsd with or without GUI. It's also possible that acarsdgui will be attached to a running instance of acarsd (only under Linux). The Linux version of acarsd can also be started as daemon in background without any output (server must be enabled to use the daemon mode).
