Databases
From Acarsd
acarsd database manager, editor and the database handling
Sorry, but some parts of this page are already written for the next acarsd release 1.66 - but all links and menus are also available within the current version except the internal handling is completly different!
With the database manager [menu Databases within the installer] you can control all databases which will be used for your acarsd system.
Here you see a simple table with 9 rows and 7 cols (6 in acarsd 1.65). The first col shows the type of the database (Aircrafts, Countries, Airlines ...), the second col shows YES if the raw-format (.txt) is available or NO if not. If the raw format is not available you can also not use the doit button to compile this database. Column 3 shows the date of the last change for the raw-format, col 4 the size of the textfile. Column 5 shows YES if you have already a binary database and NO if not. Column 6 shows the date of the last change of this database and col 7 shows the count of entries in this database.
Column 8 shows YES if your binary database is up2date and NO if not - in this case you should click the doit button to compile this database.
Database Handling
The following short documentation is for acarsd 1.66
To get clean and working databases for every acarsd system in the world, we have completly changed the database handling since acarsd 1.66
All updates (from acarsdclient, from web or from acarsdgui) will be send to our global database where the database admin check all submitted entries and accept, edit or reject these updates. With the FetchUpdates switch within the installer you can set when your system will update his databases. There are 3 available options:
- get crosschecked updates every 24hours (daily)
- get crosschecked updates once a week (weekly)
- never get updates
If the FetchUpdates is set to daily or weekly, your system will contact acarsd.org (once a week or once a day - during midnight rotation) and will fetch the updatefile. The updatefile can contain new entries, modified entries and deleted entries. acarsd will read this file and modify your binary databases.
Start with checked databases?
If you wish to start with clean and crosschecked databases you can use the SyncDatabases switch. If this option is set, acarsd will fetch all crosschecked items for every database from www.acarsd.org. When the download is done, every binary database on your system will be deleted and overwritten with the new databases acarsd, the acarsd database compiler, and the database manager within installer and acarsdgui will only work on the groundstation database if SyncDatabases is set!
Your groundstation database will be included like in all previous acarsd versions. Write your textfile. Example:
A Zagreb, SITA 131.7250
O Budapest, SITA 131.7250
H Vienna, SITA 131.7250
R Munich, SITA 131.7250
C Prague, SITA 131.7250
M Ljubljana, SITA 131.7250
and create the binary database with acarsdb or use the database manager within the installer or acarsdgui.
